Just finished this to be auctioned in QLD for Lisa's Lunches Logan.... a Not-for-profit who supplies palliative care boxes to 8 hospitals in Brisbane. I hope they raise heaps of funds to support cancer patients on their journey ###

'Where Day Lets Go'

I have never had the courage to try and do a full sunset sky - and I must admit ..... I struggled throughout this painting to get the sky 'right'. And then when I got it as 'right' as I could get it, the foreground became the ugly part of the painting. I found that I put so much effort into the sky - I had disregarded the foreground. I changed the original concept three times, painting over distant mountains, trees and a lookout. I am still not happy with it but, it is finished to the best of my ability at this stage of my painting journey........

I thought I had bought a cotton canvas pad. I knew something wasn't right when I put the paint down. But you know what? The blending opportunities on this form is amazing. While I am not changing my love for cotton canvas....... this error in purchasing has opened up more creative opportunity!
