~ A gentle rehang of our current exhibition ~

✨✨✨Bridget Riley | Clarity✨✨✨

Gallery hours:
Thursdays - Sundays 10 - 4pm
Other times happily by appointment.

This exhibition brings together a selection of print works spanning seven decades of Bridget Riley’s practice, tracing the evolution of her sustained inquiry into perception, rhythm, and visual experience.

In print, these investigations take on a particular clarity and precision, where repetition and variation unfold through carefully structured sequences. Motifs recur, shift and reappear, creating echoes across decades of making.

A focused presentation, drawn in part from Dia’s collection, is now on view through July 2028 at Dia Art Foundation | Dia Beacon, Dia Chelsea, Dia Bridgehampton Beacon, presenting a selection of Bridget Riley’s earliest black-and-white paintings, created between 1961 and 1964, before she introduced color into her work in 1967.

Featuring deceptively simple yet painstakingly intricate line-based and geometric motifs, these works induce dynamic visual sensations, their compositions appearing to compress and expand as the viewer moves around the canvas. Together, they demonstrate the breadth of perceptual effects Riley achieved with a limited palette and formal vocabulary, illustrating how these formative years laid the groundwork for her decades-long exploration of spatial relations within and beyond the work. We are delighted to announce a new exhibition opening Saturday August 8th.

DANIEL SILVER | PEOPLE

In 2020, Daniel Silver spent several days observing the acclaimed S-E-D – Sharon Eyal Dance Company during rehearsals in Bern, Switzerland, producing a series of watercolours that captured not only physical movement but also the intensity of collective presence, the relationships between bodies in space, and those fleeting moments when choreography seems to transcend the physical. These observations became the catalyst for a new body of oil-painted ceramic sculptures, first presented at Fruitmarket Gallery Edinburgh in 2022.

For People, Silver presents the next chapter of this ongoing investigation. The exhibition includes, for the first time, the life-sized, bronze-painted sculpture, Standing People 2026, alongside a group of smaller bronze-painted dancer sculptures developed in collaboration with Lockbund Sculpture Foundry and Far Far Gallery . These are shown together with a selection of watercolours made during the rehearsals and ensuing perforated drawings, allowing visitors to trace the evolution of the work from direct observation to sculptural form.

Private View: Saturday 8th August, 5-7pm
Kindly RSVP via our website.

Please contact [email protected] for full artwork list and sales.

This exhibition will run concurrently with Bridget Riley | Clarity until Sunday 6th September.

Our thanks to the artist and Frith Street Gallery for this collaboration; Daniel Silver is represented by Frith Street Gallery
