Oakey Historical Museum We are caretakers for the Museum Louise, Eva & David we will share most of what is going on in the Museum but most of all would like you to come and visit.

Sorry for the long break but should be posting lots more again about what is happening around the Museum.
Fay, Marj & Sonja are putting up a old slab fence around the slab hut, Bruce is chopping wood up the back ready for the caretakers to burn & the caretakers are cleaning the old wash house, raking and burning some leaves in the barrel(s). More pics coming soon.

We are painting the the whole of the Museum....
Got to find 12 new shots of the Museum for a calendar....
Going to get some hay for the middle garden....(our chooks have too much fun in there...lol.)
Will put a pic up of each job done as we go....

When we as Caretakers first arrived a vege garden and some sunflowers were planted and corn and we have been looking for...

When we as Caretakers first arrived a vege garden and some sunflowers were planted and corn and we have been looking forward to seeing it all grow....so here is the first sunflower and the crop of corn. Did you know that every one of the hairs growing out the corn cob top is a part of one corn kernel and it needs to be pollinated before it will grow into a kernel....I did not know that until the other day!
