Em, who lives in Sydney, saw 'Gidgee Drought Breaker' on a Facebook post.

She and her family left Sydney for a 6000km trip through the Simpson Desert, and, returned to Sydney via Bourke to buy the painting!

The sky is so big where I live and it continuously puts on a show. I'm sure the master Artist delights in creating this huge canvas, and I know I enjoy recreating it with my pastels.

Such skyscapes featured in my ‘Moods and Colours of Bourke’ series, painted between 2003 -2006. Here are two of my favourites.

'Easter Sunrise at Bourke'

The spectacular sunrises experienced in the outback are the perfect backdrop for contemplation of the cross found on the open plain at Bourke at Easter.

‘Mount Oxley Storm’
Its exciting to see beautiful, billowing cloud formation building up over the wide, flat horizon. Mount Oxley rises in the distance like a landmark against the sky.
