I’m so stoked to have been asked by Tourism Noosa to create an artwork for Christmas on Hastings Street this year.
The piece, ‘Christmas Heatwave’, has been turned into festive wrapping paper.
If you’re on Hastings Street this holiday season, you can have your purchased gifts wrapped in it at the Visitor Information Centre — it’s a little slice of Noosa to take home with you.
Six years ago, Chelsea, Duke and I first came to Noosa for a surf holiday, and it was one of those places that instantly felt like home. I still remember walking along the National Park track (Tea Tree was reeling that day) and Chelsea and I turned to each other and said, “Shall we just move here?” And we did. Just like that.
My art and this place just go hand in hand, and I’ve been inspired by Noosa ever since.
The original ‘Christmas Heatwave’  (79 x 105 cm) is currently hanging in the Visitor Information Centre and is available - DM for more details.
If you’d rather, I’ve also created a limited-edition print run of the work that has just been put up on my website.
Massive thanks to Tourism Noosa. It’s cool to see my work bringing a bit of festive cheer to this amazing place we call home.

The original ‘Christmas Heatwave’ is float-framed in Tasmanian oak (79 x 105 cm) and is available to collect. DM for more details.

If you’d rather, I’ve also created a limited-edition print run of the work that has just been put up on my website.

Massive thanks to Tourism Noosa! It’s cool to see my work bringing a bit of festive cheer to this amazing place we call home.

During massive swell events in the dead of winter when the waves were too big to ride, my mates and I would time our slip and slide run to the end of Bronte baths and grab the chain that ringed it. Hanging on for dear life as giant waves broke meters from us and enveloped us with the seas fury, we would yell in a collective roar against the elements. The threat of a back surge taking you across the rocks and out to sea was ever present as was the relief of the last wave of a set sweeping you into the pool from where you could swim to safety. These paintings are indicative of a time when it didn’t cost a cent to entertain yourselves for hours and the fun police were still a way off.
