I am Alisoun Neville, artist, creative and somatic therapist. I explore creative practices that invite everyday wonder, and are grounded in place, embodiment, and love for the textures and thresholds of the living world. Art for me begins with the body, with sensation, touch, and the natural expression of hands meeting material. From there, it reaches outward to the textures of earth, the rhythm o

Yesterday’s linocut workshop at Living Space Studio Gallery. The tables filled up fast, and the activity too was full. Cups of tea, lino blocks, cutting tools, different paints and papers, and inked rollers, passed across tables, hand to hand. What people kept coming back to afterward: a real sense of community and connection, and the freedom that comes from making without a fixed outcome in mind. And there was something about the repetition of cutting — that beautiful mindlessness of blade through lino, line after line — that pulled some of you through to total immersion. Time does something different in a room like that.

Spend an afternoon with Alisoun and Camille, making your own linocuts, and reflecting, if you wish, on what holds and what goes.

This workshop is suitable for beginners but may also offer something for the experienced printer. Take your prints home, perhaps to frame or to share as cards or gifts. You can also keep your plate for future printing sessions, whenever you feel like creating with i for yourself, or gifting it to the people around you.
