Ahh Memories!!

Gosh! It’s phenomenal how quickly the years fly by!

Can you believe it’s been 8 years since we were doing our bespoke History & Paranormal After Dark Night Tours on site at the Willow Court Barracks Precinct??

We will be forever grateful to the DVC for allowing us to be the first team to conduct this type of tour onsite, and helping to share with others our knowledge of, and passion for the site that we had spent so many years (over a decade at that point) and hundreds of hours researching and documenting.

We are also grateful to all of those who came and shared in these tours with us and for giving us the opportunity to showcase this unique, incredible, historically valuable and important site within Australia’s history, and for giving the spirits who remain, the opportunity to connect with you and share their stories too, because their stories are just as important to be shared as the site’s Art, Cultural and Social history.

The money raised from these tours went to a wonderful cause, one that is close to our hearts. It’s a shame circumstances changed and we weren’t able to continue offering these tours. But who knows what the future will bring right?

We loved it while it lasted, and have wonderful memories and experiences that will last a lifetime! We know it changed some of our patrons views on the world and the possibility of life after death too! 😱

As it so happens, going through our archives, we found a mini-doco showcasing these tours and what we had on offer. We may just brush off the digital dust and upload it for you to view soon - what do you think? 😄👻

This Saturday we will be heading to Ross for a night venturing into otherworldly & unknown Ghostly Tales & Lore at the haunted Ross Hotel as we celebrate the ancient Celtic tradition of All Hallows Eve (Samhain).

So grab some friends, get in touch with The Ross Hotel to book a table, enjoy some great food & drinks & join us for a night under the Hunter’s Full Moon & a partial Lunar Eclipse (soo much energy around for the night!) as we bring to life the Lore of Ross, Other Ghostly Encounters & Stories of People from Beyond the Veil… who knows, maybe the resident spirits of the hotel will join us!

On December 10th, 2016, the team played host to the First ever History & Paranormal Investigation Tour to be held on site at the Willow Court Barracks Precinct in New Norfolk Tasmania.

This tour was years in the making & with Thanks to the Derwent Valley Council, approval was finally given for these tours to go ahead.

Comprised of a 7hr History Tour, Equipment Workshop & Paranormal Tour, run by seasoned investigators in the paranormal field, it was no wonder our tour sold out in less than 24hrs!

The tour was taken through 4 buildings consisting of Alonnah (Ward A), Carlton (Ward C) Occupational Therapy (OT) & the Barracks Building which is the original building on site. We had negotiated with Friends of Frescati to run tours from Frescati, being the first group to do so, plans had begun for these, but unfortunately, this was not to be.

This tour was exclusive & bespoke, with only 18 people in the group for the history section of the tour which was then split into 3 groups of 6 for the paranormal investigation. Each group was taken by one of co-founders of the Australian Paranormal Investigation Unit. Why did we split the group? This helped to minimise disruption & contamination during the investigations held, as well as keeping it personal & detailed, gving our patrons the best possible experience as they tried their hand at being a paranormal investigator for the night!

These tours were quite popular with all profits made going directly to the Willow Court Restoration Fund (we raised over $3000 in just 3 tours!) We still get asked today when our next one will be happening!

We really enjoyed doing these tours & who knows, maybe they will be back one day! 👻

Around this time 4 years ago the After Dark Night Tours were (re) born! After years of negotiation, we were given permission from the Derwent Valley Council to run the first ever Night/Paranormal Tours within the Willow Court Barracks Precinct buildings in New Norfolk, Tasmania.

Consisting of Alonnah (Ward A), Carlton (Ward C) Occupational Therapy and the Barracks Building which is the original building on site. We had negotiated with Friends of Frescati to run tours from Frescati, being the first group to do so, plans had begun for these, but unfortunately, this was not to be.

This 7hr tour consisted of a History Tour, Equipment and Theory Workshop and a Paranormal Investigation which was crafted on the night by those who participated. The tours were small (18 people max split into 3 groups for the paranormal investigation) bespoke and unique. No 2 tours were the same.

We had made a heap of promos to advertise the tours as we had planned to run more over the years, circumstances unfortunately changed. As we work on our series, we thought we'd share them anyway!
