On permanent exhibit in the Museum is Mr Henry Forbes toolkit. He started his apprenticeship with Bridglands in 1925.
With Bridglands closing it is indeed the end of an era, and the Brunswick Valley Historical Society would like to thank the Bridgland family for their support over the years.

Come see the Silver!
As of Tuesday this week 28th April 2026 the Massy Greene silver service will be on display at the Mullumbimby Museum.
This silver service was given to Walter Massy Greene by the Liberal Party in 1915 when he was sitting member for Richmond, it was gifted to him on the occasion of his marriage.
It's well worth a look, it has beautifully and intricately made pieces of silverware and comes in a purpose built case which is a beautiful object in its own right.
The service was donated to the museum by G. Massy Greene.

The Museum is open Tuesday and Friday Mornings between 10 and 12 and on market Saturdays.

Spaghetti Circus Inc and the Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce are having a Teddy Bears Picnic this coming Saturday.
This Saturday 28/3 betwixt the hours of 1:30pm and 3:30 later that day Teddy bears will be coming together at the Showgrounds out on Main Arm Rd, with Circus.
For those of you wondering "how much?" the correct answer is free. You'd better bring your Teddy Bears too, always room for more.
I'm thinking Good times, fun times with the whole family.
Mullumbimby Museum doesn't have a lot of Teddy Bears but many from the community have contributed to an exhibit of local bears, also the volunteers at the museum would love to see more bears, so if you'd like to loan a Teddy Bear to the Museum for a little while, well that would be most appreciated.
A lot of things can be said about President Theodore Roosevelt and maybe it is telling that the British seem to have conflated him with Teddy Bears.
The Oldest Known Teddy Bear in the World dates to1904 and was made by a German company "Steiff" and can be found in Pollock's Toy Museum in London.
Keep an eye around town for Teddy Bears in shop windows, they gather and bivouac before Saturday.
We are rich in Mullumbimby and the Brunswick Valley for options for recreational activities for children and The Spaghetti Circus has been a constant of our community since 1992. My personal thanks for a couple of tumbles in the late 90's.

Come Check out the Sawmill's Exhibit.

Ever wonder about the wood?
The beautiful homes of Mullumbimby built of finest timbers.
There's a birthing chair st the Mullumbimby Museum that is well worth seeing - Red Cedar shaped for its purpose - absolutely beautiful.
Anyway, back to the wood itself. The Brunswick River was opened to non-indigenous through the need of empire for wood. They came first for the Red Cedars and then cleared the Big Scrub.
Wood takes processing and mills were established very early on, by men who worked hard with bullocks, saws and with the new industrial age. Machines came quickly and these mills were prosperous hubs for the growing district.
I recommend a quick drop in (or as long as you like) on Tuesdays and Fridays 10 - 12 or on market Saturdays.
Checkout all the great exhibits, but we should remember it started with wood.
