PowerWorks PowerWorks is a centre dedicated to the power industry with educational and interactive displays. Other days by appointment. Entry $5.00 for adults.

PowerWorks has been gifted to the local community by AGL Loy Yang, GDF Suez Hazelwood and Energy Australia Yallourn. PowerWorks Holdings Ltd, a not-for-profit community organisation, manages PowerWorks on behalf of the community. The voluntary Board of PowerWorks Holdings Ltd are dedicated to making the facility an exciting, major tourist attraction; a unique place where visitors can gain an accur

ate, balanced understanding of energy, electricity, brown coal history, development and future uses of this state asset. Come along and visit our PowerWorks Visitors Centre tomorrow at Ridge Road, Morwell, to enjoy a nostalgic and educational power generation experience. Visitors will receive a very warm welcome from our Visitors Centre volunteers.
The Visitors Centre provides everyone with a good historical understanding of the electricity industry “journey” since 1921, by the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria, especially in the Latrobe Valley.
“Self-guided” tours, over the Visitors Centre’s two floor levels can be experienced. As well, there are a broad range of inter-active “hands-on” and static displays “on show” for visitors of all ages to experience.
At the entry to Ridge Road, Dredger 21 is situated for viewing. This is one of the former “fleet” used for “coal winning” to fuel both the Morwell and Hazelwood Power Stations, along with the Morwell Briquette Factory.
Ample car parking is available, which includes panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
ENTRY FEES: $5.00 for adults. Children under 15 years are free. Concession Card Holder, Seniors Card and Students over 15 years $2.50.
