Booringa Heritage Museum Mitchell The Heritage Museum is endeavouring to preserve the heritage of the old Booringa Shire in Mitchell.

Mitchell is located in SW Qld 600 kms west of Brisbane on the banks of the Maranoa River. It is now part of the Maranoa Regional Council although before 2008 it was the centre of the Booringa Shire.During the devastating floods which inundated Mitchell on 3rd February 2012, the Museum was flooded throughout to a depth of 35cm and further damaged by the deluging rain which penetrated the old buildi

ng.The Group's activities are entirely absed around the development of the msueum. Volunteers spend one group day a week working to prepare and set up the displays and it is open each day to the public from 9am until noon and manned by a volunteer.

The laundry houses a laundry trolly, washing machine as well as other laundry exhibits. Enjoy!

Our Open Day this year will be held at the Museum on Saturday 5th September commencing at 8am. Lots of activities will be operating on the day, so come and enjoy yourselves! Stalls welcome
