We didn’t even get the chance to share and promote this event!!
Tickets sold out in under 5 hours last week. However we look forward to seeing everyone that is booked in November. Remember the museum is free all day so even if you didn’t get a ticket still come out and enjoy the village and go through the museum. There is a waiting list through the ticketing portal.

VALE Harold Streatfeild

Remembering our member Harold today as family and friends farewelled him at a lovely service at St Marks and then after at the Museum. Harold and his beloved wife, Elaine, were wonderful hardworking members of the museum for many years. They were involved in Collections, Projects and Maintenance, Catering, Events and much more. Many of Harold tractor’s are on display at the museum.

From the archives this week is a snow photo since it is so cold today!!!! Taken on the subway corner looking north, you can see the old hotel on the left, Masonic hall behind, house in Pilcher St (maybe No. 13?), next to that the Boag’s house in Victoria St and i assume the edge of the veranda of Mrs Mac’s (Mason’s) cottage. The young lady is Betty Rose whose family has the hotel (now private residence) in the background.

Interesting note Bettys full name was Phyllis Beryl Dardanelle Rose. Dardanelle, as she was born in 1915 during the war in which her brother fought.
