Wild dingoes & fair dinkum country. 🐕🏔️

In the final chapter of Charlie’s first muster, the raw reality of the bush sets right in. The dingoes were stalking them, tracking the trail of the milk-drinking calves. The cattle dogs would go after them, but they’d turn back pretty quick, it was no place to get reckless.

As Charlie says, you simply don’t ever forget experiences like that. That’s fair dinkum country for you.

Bloody oath. Welcome to the team. 🪵🔥

Charlie here. I’ve just been looking at the page and I am completely staggered by the response to my video on the brumbies. To see over 2,000 new people join our page overnight is something special. It shows me that the old Australian spirit is still alive and well.

If you’ve just joined us, thank you. You are joining us at a critical time.

We are working hard on the property in Merrijig to build the High Country Hall of Fame. We’re doing this for the old-timers, for the horses, and for the next generation of riders who need to know where they came from.

We are building this place with our own two hands, but timber, concrete, and hardware don't buy themselves. If you reckon what we’re doing is vital for the country, I'm asking you to jump onto our website and back us. Whether it’s signing up as a volunteer, showing interest in becoming a founding member or chipping in a donation to help us hit our next building milestone, every single dollar goes directly into the soil here.

Let’s get this done together. Head to the link below and check out what we're building.

Good on ya,
Charlie Lovick

THEY BELONG OUT THERE. 🏔️🐴

Many of you have been asking how Charlie feels about the ongoing shooting of our High Country Brumbies. To him, and generations of cattlemen before him, these wild horses are an inseparable part of the rugged mountain landscape.

The Australian mountain brumby was bred for the cause. They belong in this country, and they don't do the harm some claim.

For over a century, mountain cattlemen lived side-by-side with the brumbies. They didn't need brutal culls; the cattlemen managed them naturally, respected them, and kept the balance out in the bush.

The High Country Hall of Fame isn't just about preserving timber huts and old saddles, it’s about standing up for the entire heritage of the mountains, including the iconic wild horses that have earned their right to run free on the ridges.

A lot of miles in the saddle. 🪵🔥

Our family has been running cattle, building mountain huts, and riding these ridges since 1860. It’s a rugged history, and it's one we are incredibly proud of.

This short timeline shows the steps that brought us to where we are today, and the big vision we’re actively working toward for our inaugural event in 2027. We are building a forever home for these stories so they aren't lost to the scrub.

Take a quick look at the journey so far. If you reckon this history is worth saving, jump on board and give our page a follow.

Good on ya,
Charlie Lovick
