Visited BODY WORLDS Exhibition at The District Docklands and it was honestly one of the most fascinating and eye-opening experiences we’ve had.
The exhibition showcases REAL human bodies and organs preserved through a process called plastination, allowing you to see the human anatomy in incredible detail. From muscles and bones to nerves, blood vessels, and internal organs.

At Live Well, learning never stops ✨

Our team recently spent the day exploring the incredible Body Worlds exhibition as part of our team culture and professional development day.

Seeing the human body in such an amazing and interactive way reminds us just how incredible movement, strength, and rehabilitation really are.

Days like this help us continue learning, growing, and bringing the best care possible to our patients 💛

Have you ever visited Body Worlds?

Our myotherapy team had an excursion to the amazing exhibition in Docklands recently, and we are still blown away!
Body Worlds is a real anatomical specimen experience, and here are our top take aways from the visit:

💪When you ask us “which muscle are you on” our answer is an educated guess.
We have years of experience and study that has equipped us to confidently work with our clients and their bodies. Our muscles are upon layers and layers of each other, not to mention the skin, adipose tissue and connective tissue in between! When you ask us this, there’s usually multiple answers!

🧠The more you learn about the human body, the less you realise you know.
Human anatomy is incredibly complex, and while our visit to this exhibition highlighted our confidence to identify muscles, we were completely taken back by how much we didn’t know about other systems in the body. Every inch of ourselves are made up of complex, incredible structures, and we will never know absolutely everything. Instead, we value collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

🤲Manual therapy affects more than muscles and tendons.
Our aim of using manual therapy as a tool is not to mechanically “release” your muscles or “realign” your spine. The power of touch has an affect on multiple systems of the body, especially the nervous system which impacts multiple systems of the body.

🩻There is so much variability in human anatomy from person to person. Textbooks and diagrams do not do justice to what we actually are like under the skin. We are not a one size fits all, and similar pain or symptoms may be as a result of different reasons in person to person.

❤️Anatomy is pretty f***ing awesome!
Self explanatory.

Took Seth to BODY WORLDS Melbourne over the holidays and honestly… we were both hooked from the moment we walked in 👀

Seeing real human specimens up close mixed with the interactive exhibits made it so much more than just a “museum visit” — it’s one of those experiences that actually makes you stop and think about your body, your health, and how everything works together.

Seth was completely fascinated the whole time (which says a lot 😂), and I loved how it turned something complex into something he could actually understand and be curious about.

If you’re in Melbourne, this is 100% worth adding to your list — educational & eye-opening!

Open daily 9am–7pm at The District Docklands

One question. 30 years. 58 million people. 🌍

In 1977, Dr. von Hagens invented plastination — and preserved the human body for eternity. Now used in 400+ laboratories across 40 countries, this technique speaks the language of anatomy to the entire world.

This isn’t just an exhibition. This is one of science’s greatest turning points.

📍Body Worlds, Docklands

This is easily one of the most fascinating exhibitions in Melbourne right now 🧠

You’re literally seeing real human muscles, organs and nerves up close, which sounds intense but it’s actually so interesting and kind of surreal

It’s not just about anatomy either, it really makes you think about how your body works, your health, and how everything is connected in ways you don’t usually think about

Perfect if you’re looking for something different to do that’s still lowkey educational but actually engaging
