I didn’t expect Malaysia to change my art.

Three commissions. Three completely different briefs. One very humbling creative season navigating new motherhood, family time, and work I‘m genuinely proud of. Constraint isn’t the enemy of creativity. It‘s the editor. Thank you for being here for all of it. Back home in Melbourne now. 🤎

A glimpse into my temporary Malaysian studio. It's been great being able to spend a few months in Malaysia with baby and connecting with family and friends.

Love that I am able to continue painting during this time too. Setting up a creative practice in a temporary space isn't just logistical it's psychological. You have to trust that the work can happen anywhere, that the practice travels with you.

What I'm learning:
The light here is different. It changes how I see color and texture.
Limited time in Malaysia = more intentional choices and no room for overthinking.
Geographic shift doesn't diminish practice, it distills it.

Three major commissions are happening in this space. And as each one completes, you'll see the full reveal.

Separate pieces with their own voice, but made to sit quietly together. A bit like looking at the coastline from two different perspective which is the central theme behind my recent work.

In my zone. Just colour, movement, and a bit of breathing space. If my work feels calming, it’s probably because this is where I find my calm too.
