Craig Veneman of Delatite Electrical installed a total of 12 lights.
It's going to look spectacular.

Phosphate Mine, Howes Creek Road, Mansfield Shire, Victoria
1918
PHOTO SUPPLIED: Norma Friday

The state-run mine at 'Phosphate Hill', Mansfield was the only phosphate mine in Victoria.
It was closed circa 1955 as the mineral was low grade and difficult to concentrate.
REFERENCE: R A K***n
Pictured is a postcard to Ethel Stephens from her father, James Stephens, which reads:
This is another view of what is called the 'Big Cut' - the same cut as the previous cards - and the man entering the cut is Mr Parsons, the manager before me.
You cannot see too deep in this one as in one of the first you had.
The men work about 20 feet deeper than you can see there and are away the other side of the windlass.
This is the entrance to it, but you can also go down ladders where the windlass is.

OUR HISTORY

Moving the Howes Creek State School, Howes Creek, Victoria, Australia
1912
PHOTO SUPPLIED: Julie Smith

The original Howes Creek State School was built on land donated by John Ross, not far from 'Rossdale' and near the hall.
The Loyola School was on the Lime Kilns Road past the old lime kilns.
In 1912 the Education Department merged the two schools, as in 1910 two acres was obtained by the Department for this purpose from Mr W Griffiths, near 'Hartfield' at the intersection of the Lime Kilns Road and the Howes Creek-Darlingford Road.
Mr Griffiths requested three acres on the Limestone Reserve adjoining his property in return.
The Loyola School was moved to the new site, and re-named the Howes Creek State School No. 3483, whilst the other building near 'Rossdale' was used for church services and other activities.
