Celebrating local talent at CASM ✨

We are incredibly proud to have hosted Where Thorns Speak, the captivating debut solo exhibition by local fine art photographer Louise Alexander.

Watching our community's emerging artists navigate early solo experiences and push creative boundaries is at the very heart of what we do here at CASM. The response from visitors over the past month to Louise's mastery of tone, symbolism, and narrative photography has been nothing short of wonderful.

Thank you to everyone who visited, shared their support, and celebrated this incredible milestone with us.

🎨 High Fives and Halfway Marks! RT Kids Mid-Term Update 🚀

Can you believe we are already at the mid-term mark?! Time flies when you're making and creating!

Our RT Kids after-school young creators (aged 5–16) have been absolutely bringing the energy to the CASM Community Workshop every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. We’ve already seen some incredible imaginations come to life through painting, drawing, and sculpture—and the creativity is only ramping up!

Getting creative after a long day at school isn't just about making awesome art to hang on the fridge (though we love that part!).

It’s the ultimate way for kids to:
🧠 Decompress and unwind in a safe, friendly space.
💡 Problem-solve and think outside the box.
🤝 Make new friends who share their passion for all things colourful.

A massive shoutout to all our young artists for working so hard, trying new techniques, and keeping the studio buzzing with inspiration this term. We can't wait to see what masterpieces you finish by the end of term!

✨ Meet the Artist: Minjung Kang✨

Looking for some weekend inspiration? Step inside the studio at the Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah (CASM) and meet our current artist-in-residence, Minjung Kang.

Minjung’s incredible work draws from her personal journey of migrating from Korea to Western Australia. Her drawings and paintings capture that unique, beautiful "in-between" feeling—exploring memory, emotion, and what it means to find your place in a new world.

Currently mentored by acclaimed artists Tessa Mackay, Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, and curator Mandy Hawkhead, Minjung is opening up her studio for a relaxed, informal afternoon.

This is your chance to:
👋 Say hello and chat with Minjung about her creative process.
🎨 Explore the studio space and see works in progress.
👁️ Bear witness to her unique art residency journey.
