Are you as surprised as us of the new laws regarding ebikes? Head over to the bq website with the link below and see what you can do to help overcome these excessive laws. Granted there is an issue with overpowered ebikes but most importantly the issue stands with the emoto users. We also feel that if a bicycle has been converted with a high power conversion and had the cranks removed its no longer a bicycle but an emoto.
Bicycle Queensland is actively seeking to meet with the Minister for Transport and Main Roads to ensure the voices of bike and e-bike riders are heard β and to work through elements of the draft e-mobility laws that may not deliver practical outcomes for our community.
We support sensible regulation of illegal devices to improve safety, but are against changes that create unnecessary barriers to riding.
