We’re loving the beautiful new artworks by Sunshine Coast artist Simone Eisler, inspired by her ancestor who lived and worked right here in Mackay.

Come along to the Artist Book Collective if you're interested in making artists books! The next meeting is happening on Sunday 25 October at 10:30am.

The aim of the Artist Book Collective (ABC) - a community led artist group - is to bring artists together to foster book making arts, share ideas, skills and knowledge, find inspiration from the MRC Artists Book Collection and encourage a local community network of artists book makers in the Mackay region.

Also known as ekphrasis, it invites a calm, reflective engagement with a work of art—an opportunity to slow down and respond with intention. Whether you’re an experienced writer or simply hoping to develop your skills in a supportive and tranquil space, you’re welcome to join us for a free session that will provide the group with framework to take a ‘slow look’ at a selected work of art on show in the main gallery, respond in writing and discuss.
