Yellow House Gallery Tasmania

Yellow House Gallery Tasmania Work began on converting an old country corner store into YellowHouse a Studio/Gallery in 2002. Dee Mills’s artistic practice extends over the last 4 decades.

There have been three major exhibitions held, in 2005 Stone and Clay, in 2006 a retrospective of Diana Mills’s work, in 2007 Windswept. The Gallery has since functioned as a studio, with work on commissions being carried out. Her works portray a rich understanding, deep perception and observation into the very intimate and complex worlds of the natural habitat. An essential spirit or knowledge e

merges from how and what she is observing with almost scientific acuity. Through sculptural, graphic or painterly form, her works embody and eminate a numinous quality which communicate an essential knowledge and great respect for her surrounds. Dee invites us into an almost non-humancentric vision of the deep mystery, that is revealed by the jewel-like mosaic of patterns unique to Tasmanian landscapes and endemic species of the Island. Through the concentrated focus of her work, she importantly, increases a profound sense of place for us all.
