✨ The Ken Maurer Emerging Artist Award 2025 ✨
Laguna Art Show is proud to continue one of our most meaningful traditions, the Ken Maurer Emerging Artist Award, announced last night on Opening Night.
This award celebrates artists at the very beginning of their creative journey, a legacy made possible by the generosity and vision of Ken and Antoinette Maurer, who supported the Laguna Art Show for over three decades. Today, the Maurer family continues this tradition in Ken’s honour, a tribute to his unwavering belief in creativity, community, and supporting the children of the Valley.
This year, the honour of selecting the recipient was given to Stephanie Vella and the Art Show Executive Team. Stephanie is not only the Director and Curator of Roadside Gallery in Wollombi, a destination that has firmly put our Valley on the cultural map but also one of the most respected creative voices in the region. Her influence, vision, and tireless dedication to the arts are unmatched. She has already been recognised with the Outstanding Contribution Award for her countless hours of expertise and passion that have shaped the Laguna Art Show into what it is today.
To have Stephanie’s discerning eye and deep knowledge guiding this award is a privilege. Her selection itself carries immense weight and respect.
🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Euan Wilcox has been awarded the 2025 Ken Maurer Emerging Artist Award for his outstanding photography. Euan, who also photographs for his own Instagram channel , received a $500 prize in recognition of his remarkable work.
This award is so well deserved, and being chosen by Stephanie Vella is a true honour in itself.
