Meet some very special Olympians and catch up with fellow skiers, ski lodge members and local identities. The King’s Birthday Weekend is the time to welcome winter in Perisher and enjoy the many events including the Peak Music Festival.

Back to Perisher - Easter 2026
SLOPES and NPWS will stage Back to Perisher again this year during the Easter weekend, with lots of activities including a Fun Run to Blue Cow, Porcupine Discovery Walk, 600 ducks for the Duck Race, Easter Day Service at the Alpine Church. See details at:

Mrs Macs Cross!

Is this Australia's biggest daffodil cross?

6m long by 4m wide, it's a memorial cross on an old golf course at Sponars Chalet in the NSW Snowy Mountains.

If there's a bigger daffodil cross, then please let me know.

A buckjumping challenge..
“As we assembled by the fireside at Mawson's Hut, someone mentioned that there was a man named Harold staying at White's River Hut, who had quite a reputation as a horseman. There was a general guffaw from the Mawson's Hut men; then Arthur broke in, "We call him 'The Man from Skiting Ridge'." They gave him this name because he talked so much about his prowess as a horseman.
It seemed they had a name for all the men around them. More tea was served and Arthur put a proposition to us. He said: "If we come over early in the morning with some of our horses would you persuade Harold to ride them? We'd like to see 'The Man from Skiting Ridge' in action again, and I don't think he can stay with some of them".
In front of the hut was a small horseyard and buckjumping kraal, made in the usual style with logs of wood. …. The first horse to be placed in the kraal was as black as jet, with a flash of red in his eyes. Harold went into the ring immediately”….

Such sad news, and our condolences to Larry's family. Larry has been a lifelong skiing friend to many since those early days at Charlotte Pass.

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our founder Larry Adler, on Saturday, June 14th.

Larry was a pioneer of the Australian ski industry, but more importantly, he was a beloved husband to Nanette, a father to Skye, Craig, Scott and Larry, a cherished grandfather, and a mentor to many. Our hearts are with the entire Adler family.

A proud member of the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance, Larry's passion for the mountains was legendary. After 10 years instructing at Mont Tremblant Canada and Charlotte Pass, he founded his Pharmacy in Collaroy in 1965. A few years later, he opened Larry Adler Ski & Outdoor, building a legacy that has lasted for decades.

His passion was infectious, and his impact on the Australian ski and outdoor community is immeasurable. Larry's legacy will forever be etched on the slopes he loved and in the hearts of the countless people he taught, employed, and inspired.

His love for skiing and the great outdoors will continue through the work we do every day.
