Station Gardens are a feature at Koo Wee Rup - Koo Wee Rup is one of the most attractive stations on the Yarram line - Ben Broadbent started the garden in the early 1960s and his work was taken over by Claude Einsiedel; Station master Ray Brown gets many compliments from passengers and railway officials. The three men are featured in the photograph from the Koo Wee Rup Sun, July 12, 1972 p.8.

Back when trains were everywhere. Koo Wee Rup, on the Great Southern line, had trains passing (and some stopping) that went all the way to Alberton and Port Albert; the trains that carried the coal from Outtrim (via Korumburra); the trains that carried the coal from the State Coal mine at Wonthaggi (via Nyora) and the trains that carried the farm produce from the Strzelecki line. Plus you could get on the train at Koo Wee Rup and head to Dandenong, Melbourne and beyond. Victorian Railways map, 1936 - at the State Library of Victoria https://handle.slv.vic.gov.au/10381/120405
