Don't miss this very special exhibition. "KI Unlocked" celebrates the wild and resilient spirit of Kangaroo Island and will be open at the Old Police Station & Court House in Kingscote, over the weekend.

Running as part of the 29th annual SALA Festival, I was honoured to open this showcase last week. Our community should be justly proud of this vibrant exhibition as 12 local makers join 11,000 visual artists in Australia's largest open access arts festival.

Visit to see it on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, featuring local art in a full-some expression of island creativity. And take your wallets because there are so many affordable pieces you will want to take home with you. Proceeds from sales to Kangaroo Island Wildlife Network.

Gotta love Fred Peters complimentary life-long jewellery cleaning service. Especially when he can return a piece like this bronze and copper tree pendant from SALA 2010 at National W**e Centre exhibition to its former glory.

ADVANCE NOTICE We are blessed & fortunate that our A Little Art Space journey is a collaboration between 3 remarkably supportive women.

However we each have a lot going on at present, so when the July school holidays end we are taking a mini one-week break.

Some commissions don't feel like work at all says silver artist Fred Peters.

This pendant was a labour of love.

"My mother bought this from you many years ago ( SALA 2010 National W**e Centre) and when she passed we gave it to a special friend of hers who cared for her until the end.

I was hoping you might make me one the same. I have another of your pendants that I love but would like one of the Glossy Blacks."

Fred "I love to hear these stories of where my jewellery travels. Your Mum Shirley K was a big fan. I would love to make this for you and have the original drawing. Your photo is excellent to work from. I'm a hobbyist these days, but It'd be my pleasure."
