The publishing and research team at K.D.H.S. Inc. have spent many hours researching, referencing, designing and developing our new Volume 6. The last Volume published was in 2011.
Volume 6 presents a unique perspective of the generations of people who settled Kilcoy and the robust businesses who helped stabilise the permanent infrastructure still evident today. It recognises individual achievement and traits such as tradition, resilience, commitment, strength of character, courage and vision.

Boy, doesn't this old thing bring back lots of memories! "Remember when you got new school shoes, Dad would add an extra sole and heel (and tack on some toe and heel caps) using his shoe last like this. The shoe last was something used in every home back in the day but these days is probably mainly kept as a door stopper! Can you remember back that far? Well your Dad or Grandad might, so I've written a book full of photos and memories of those years. Round one of Council's 2026-2027 Community Assistance Grants is now open.

✅ It is now easier than ever to submit a Community Assistance Grant with our new online form: bit.ly/4vOdAZb

In addition to ordinary grant applications, round one applicants can apply for rates remissions and Christmas projects and events. 🎄

The round closes 5pm Wednesday, 26 August 2026, and projects must not have a start date before Friday, 25 September 2026.
