✨We are beyond proud to share that Wunambal Gaambera/Worrorra artist Angelina Karadada Boona has been selected for the prestigious NGV Triennial 2026 at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.

In what will be the most ambitious work of her career to date, Angelina will reimagine the NGV's iconic Waterwall with an illuminated Wandjina figure, glowing against the gallery’s cascading glass facade.

The Wandjina is the powerful ancestral spirit, also known as the rainmaker and creator of the land. He brings the wunju (monsoon rain), and always watches over the Country and the animals.

Opening on 13 December 2026, NGV Triennial 2026 brings together more than 80 ambitious projects by nearly 100 artists and designers from 35 countries, presenting a global journey through contemporary practice spanning diverse disciplines. Grounded in major new commissions and world-premiere works, the Triennial celebrates the work of some of the world’s most respected artists while amplifying the voices of emerging talents.

Seeing Angelina's work on this incredible international stage will be a proud and powerful moment. We can't wait for the world to experience her vision.
