Hello Borghero Family descendants, family and friends.

On 17th May at the Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery, Manny's headstone will be unveiled starting at 10.00 . It would be really wonderful if some (or all of you) could attend. I know some can't but, just letting you all know.

OFFICIAL RAILWAY SERVICE INVITATION -

At 10am on Sunday the 17th of May 2026 you are invited to attend to the Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery, Costin Street, Mareeba to gather, honor and remember the lives of the following Railway Employees that lost their lives whilst at work;

**William Tasman BIRD**

Died on the 22nd October 1946 45 years of age.

**Emanuel Robert BORGHERO **

Died on the 17th May 1959 30 years of age.

**Moses Edward BUSBY**

Died on the 7th September 1956 21 years of age.

**Albert Colin ROBINSON**

Died on the 31st October 1942 70 years of age.

**Thomas URE **

Died on the 1st November 1946 59 years of age.

Three of these Railway Employees will be receiving official headstones and plaques that will mark their unmarked graves within the cemetery, to ensure their names will never be forgotten.

If attending, please bring a hat, water, and any possible seating. We will be gathered towards the rea of the cemetery, due to the shade available. All members of the Mareeba History FB Page are invited, current and retired Qld AFULE members, Queensland Rail members, history buffs, railway enthusiasts and or anyone interested in our Far North Queensland history.

All will be invited to attend the Mareeba Leagues Club for lunch if they wish. Meals are to be paid by individuals. If attending could you please advise, so we are able to supply numbers.

Many thanks to the Families of the victims, Australian Federated Union of Railway Employees, Mareeba Shire Council, and all Volunteers who have assisted in making this possible.

Please pass on to other family members. I don't have any email for Rhonda Brewer, Uncle Bill, Joanne Prandolini, and any of the Bimrose family, so if any one does, that would be great to include them. I will send out a message to who I can on Messenger. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING FOR NUMBERS FOR LUNCH AT THE LEAGUES CLUB IF YOU WANT TO STAY FOR THAT.

After Manny's is completed, I will work on the other plaques to be done for the family in Mareeba, Irvinebank and Herberton cemeteries. Thanks again for those who have financially contributed. I have Granddad Vic's plaque here and just need to fix it to some slate or a cement block. I will have it with me on the day if any one wants to see it and we can place it on his grave for a photo.

Take care and thanks.

Isabel/Bella
