Hi Art Lovers,
You may have been following along on the adventure of my ‘The Farm Tree’ painting.
A 1.5 x 1.8 m oil painting gilded with 24ct gold and sequins.
A painting of family, stories, generations and belonging. 🩷
I donated this piece to
Art Auction.
Over the past two and half weeks they have been supporting, sharing and generating funds through some incredible artists.
They donate these funds to scientific research and precision medicines for cancer. A very worthy cause.
The Art Auction finished last night and they raised over $150,000. An amazing effort by the team at Love Your Sister as well as the incredible artists they promoted.
My painting was only up for grabs for an hour on the auction when an amazing family came along and bought it outright. It was valued for the auction at $16,000, but was put up as a selling price not bidding price, for $12,000.
SOLD with in the first hour. 🤯
100% going straight to cancer research.
I’m feeling a couple things.
One….incredibly proud that I could contribute on such a big scale and that my painting will be going to a family that will truly treasure it.
And two.. I did feel like because it sold straight away, I was just looking into a party through a window which I felt a bit disconnected from.
BUT - The end result was the most important thing.
And I couldn’t be prouder of that. 🙏🏻
So I’m just sharing a few photos of the studio from the last couple of years.
Thank you for following along this rollercoaster at times, artistic wonderful life. ✨🩷✨
FYI I only have one original painting out of all paintings I’ve ever done, for sale - which is ‘The Garden’.
🤯again 🙌🏻
