Inglewood & District Historical Society The I&DHS actively preserve the history of Inglewood Victoria and the district to ensure the people and places are never forgotten.

Historical Society meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7.00pm at the Inglewood Court House.

We've got some visitors coming tomorrow, so after some last minute preparing tonight, upon leaving, the perfect photo opportunity presented. With the lights from the ambulance station one side and a full moon on the other, the grand old lady glowed.

Today we had a visit from Carrington who works with Geographic Names Victoria to detail how the Historical Society can contribute to naming of streets, buildings, parks and other infrastructure, especially nominating female representitives.
It was interesting and a few ideas were planted for future naming nominations, both female and male.

We are back at the Court House tomorrow evening for our May meeting. 7pm start.

The Inglewood & District Historical Society are saddened to hear of the passing of Gordon Picken. Gordon was a valued volunteer in our Court Re-enactments, always reliable when called upon. Condolences to Sam and Gordon's family and friends.

We love talking history. Today Kevin, Lynette and Wendy went back to school, invited by the Inglewood Primary School to talk to the students about the history of Inglewood, characters and events. Lots of great questions were asked and stories shared. We look forward to what is planned later in the year.
