Thank you to the enthusiastic students of grades 3 & 4 from St. Joseph's Primary School, Crib Point who visited us today.

The Hastings Museum & Heritage Centre had a wonderful group of excited and delightful students visit us. They were very interested in all the 'olden day' displays, the "outdoor Dunny", the fishing boat Johanna, the big 40 Pounder Armstrong gun which made a very loud BANG and the newly refurbished Pioneer Cottage and Church Porch - thanks to the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.

HASTINGS MUSEUM AND HERITAGE CENTRE
Dear friend,
We are happy to advise that the Pioneer Cottage has been restored and is now open again to the public, with thanks to the MPSC.

This small, weatherboard Pioneer Cottage is typical of the homes in Hastings at the beginning of the 20th century. The back rooms of the cottage were built first c.l900 and the front rooms added c.l905.
Some information about our museum.

We are open Wednesday 10am to 12 noon and Sunday 2pm to 4pm. The Museum can be opened for conducted tours at a time to suit you by prior arrangement. Morning or afternoon Tea can be provided at a small cost.

Contact the Secretary for special deals on 0490 132 011

We cater for group tours of all sizes from 10 people. School groups, seniors groups, walking groups, service clubs, history groups, PROBUS, Scout groups, Retirement Villages have enjoyed our displays. We hope you may be interested in visiting as a group outing.

Features of the Museum include outdoor displays such as the restored Church Porch. It was one of the early church buildings erected at Hastings by the Reorganised Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
There are outdoor displays of equipment and Dad's Shed and the most recent outdoor display is the couta boat “The Pride” donated by the Mirabella family. The boat is undergoing restoration.

Inside the Museum there is the restored 1864 Armstrong Gun (40 pounder), model of the “Myrtle Burgess” and the fully restored square sterner fishing boat “Johanna”.
There is much to see at the museum precinct and visitors may wander around at their leisure to see the many features.
Regards,
President and Committee
