The Marine Discovery Centre, one of the largest, privately funded marine education facilities in Australia, is a showcase of world-class marine and coastal science displays, state-of-the-art light and sound technology and interactive digital terminals designed to enhance the learning experience. The Centre also has purpose-built space for lectures, seminars, business events and gatherings. The Marine Discovery Centre is open to resort guests, the public and school groups.

📣 It’s that time again! Join us for our final Homeschool Session of 2025 on Wednesday 5th November – an inspiring day of exploration, science, and creativity!

This session dives into the unique Wallum Heathland – a dry, fire-prone ecosystem that has evolved from ancient coastal sands. Discover how plants adapt to challenges like low water, nutrients, and fire, then collect your own plant specimens to study under the microscope at a later session.

After a guided walk to the Marine Discovery Centre, we’ll explore the sustainable beauty of algae as a natural pigment. Learn how this renewable resource can revolutionise art and design, and create your own stunning eco-friendly artwork using algae-based paints and dyes.
