The bank of the Balonne River carries the history of the region with it ....ancient old River Gums ....fragments of trees long gone ....massive irrigation pumps for some of the largest cotton farms in the world.....beautiful homes and humble cottages .....big Road Trains rubbling over the bridge that acts as a weir as well as road .....soft greens, rust and in the afternoon the colours of the sunset are magic ......so here we have the last day's painting ..........!

6 hours drive due West of Brisbane....the history of our amazing country unfolds with the largest cotton fields in the world and remote parts of Cubbie Station now part of that history on the beautiful Balonne River St George.... Working with some intriguing Chinese paints on Thursday.....experimenting with my gorgeous Gold Coast crew ....who've been discovering all these new materials while I've been away .....so it was fun to load my brushes and see what they saw .....the paints are a combination in a tube of 2 x pigments that disperse at different rates! You can achieve this mixing with your normal palette, but the fun of the unexpected with the combo- tubes is definitely fun!

For this sampler I only 3 tubes of the paint ....but in each tube, as said they've blended 2 pigments which disperse at different times.....quite beautiful really ....:

Green/Orange
Brown/Green
Blue Lotus

There was also a Green/Yellow which I used for the highlight leaves .....one lot dispersed and the other didn't......so it obviously needs lots of water 💧 🙄

You can see the breakdown of the orange/green in the top right hand corner, the Blue Lotus drops a purple 💜 dispersion .....quite unusual colour combos for me ....so I enjoyed this play date!!! 😅🤩
