ll, there is also the original mine shaft below the Poppet Head which is lit up to enable you to see the water level and depth of the mine, an old miner's cottage, an excellent example of quarts which was been dug up during the construction of the tunnel. Once your tour of the Red Hill precinct is complete you are encouraged to meander through Gulgong and experience the other interesting places, The Gulgong Pioneers Museum, Henry Lawson Centre, Prince of Wales Opera House by appointment, and finally the Mayne Street of Gulgong where you will find the Holtermann Museum project with its new facades well worth a photograph, These buildings are two originals both photographed in the 1870's and form part Holtermann Collection Whilst walking down Mayne Street, keep a look out on the pavements for the "Swaggie" Tiles, they explain the way "Swaggies" communicated in the Gold Rush Era.
