This National Reconciliation Week, Griffith Pioneer Park Museum acknowledges the importance of truth-telling, shared understanding and respect for First Nations cultures, histories and communities.

As custodians of local history, museums play an important role in listening, learning and ensuring that the stories of Aboriginal people are recognised and respectfully represented alongside the broader histories of our region. Our Museum will continue to work towards these goals through ongoing reflection, education and meaningful engagement with First Nations communities.

We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Museum stands, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

This year’s theme, Bridging Now to Next, reminds us that reconciliation is an ongoing journey built through relationships, understanding and working together for the future.

We’re looking for friendly faces to help bring the Museum to life!
Come along, explore, and be part of a casual photo shoot to help us promote everything the Museum has to offer.

🕐 Drop in anytime between 1pm – 3pm this Sunday (31 May)

No experience needed, just come as you are! You can:
• Be a model for a short time
• Hang out in the background of photos
• Enjoy a wander while helping us showcase the space

It’s a fun, relaxed way to support the Museum and show off what makes it special.

We invite youth aged 12-24 to join us in creating a community mural, aimed to empower and represent youth 🤩

Each individual will get their own paint-by number tile, and when all of the canvases are joined together, they create one big mural! Pretty cool right?
