COMING SOON | Lineup: Surfing and Subculture by John Witzig

John Witzig’s photography captures Australian surf culture from the inside — intimate, energetic, and deeply lived. His images move beyond documentation, offering a close, responsive portrait of alternative ways of living and moments that shaped a cultural shift. Through humour, intensity, and quiet presence, Witzig shows how photography becomes an act of truly noticing.

Opening on Saturday 18 July at GRG, 'Lineup' is a celebration of John Witzig's photography - not only the waves and the beaches, but the characters and people of these places. In this exhibition, we see the breadth and diversity of Witzig's photographic practice, as well as his role a social documentarian that captured surfing life in Australia in the 60s, and 70s.

On show at GRG Saturday 18 July - Sunday 27 September.
