Traveling home last Saturday 24-05-26 stopped in the township of Grenfell the birth place of Henry Lawson we stopped at his memorial but didn’t get any photos. It was so interesting. The silo mural was spectacular, the colours were amazing. We then stopped at the Berthungra rail spiral. Omg this is so interesting. The train travels up the track in one direction then down the track in another direction then through the tunnel. It was created to allow the heavy trains to travel through the hills, only two of these spirals exist in Australia. We went to the Junee museum and there was a great model of the spiral that demonstrates how it works. Loved it so much. It was so good for Doug and I to go away for a few days.

Friday day 2 of our tour 22-05-26
First port of call for the day was Eugowra, what a beautiful little town jam packed with murals throughout depicting the story and towns history, a lovely lunch from the Fat Parcel food van and a visit to the Craft on the creek shop unfortunately due to the catastrophic flooding in 2022 the Bushrangers museum is still in renovation and repairs, said to reopen in the near future.
Out to Es**rt Rock that is famously known for the Gold Es**rt Robbery on 15-06-1862 the largest gold robbery in Australian History. Carried out by Frank Gardeners Gang of Bushrangers with Ben Hall amongst them.
A visit to Ben Halls homestead site Maguires Hut and to Ben Halls cave.
Into Forbes to the site of Kate Kelly’s downing into the Forbes Historic Museum. Out to Ben Halls shooting location and then the graveyard to pay our respects Kate Kelly and Ben Hall.

Day one Thursday 21-05-26 (Doug’s Birthday) A Few days away with an early morning start on Thursday in the foggy town of Gundagai made for some pretty photos. Breakfast at the Niagara cafe was delicious. Then On to the Gundagai cemetery to the grave site of Captain Moonlight (hung in Sydney prison) and James Nesbit who was shot and killed by Senior Constable Webb-Bowen. Webb-Bowen later died from wounds sustained in the battle at Wantanbagery station with the Moonlight gang. Captain Moonlight was captured at the time and later hung.
Also buried here is Sargent Edmund Parry shot and killed by Gilbert during the Mail-coach holdup by the Bushranger gang Ben Hall Jonny Gilbert and John Dunn up at Deep creek just out of Jugiong.
Once in Jugiong The memorial site for Sargent Parry has great information plaques and a rustic statue of the officer with his horse.
Into Binalong to the where Gilbert was shot and killed and to his burial site in the police padlocks jut out of town.
Banjo Patterson also spent some time living in this pretty town where he also went to the school here before going to school in Sydney.
