Studio Conversations 🎨

One of the great things about art in the Geelong is community — like-minded people brought together by a love of creating, sharing ideas and cheering each other on.

We were so fortunate to welcome Scott from Frameline as part of our Studio Conversations series. Scott is a wealth of knowledge, and our conversation travelled through everything from the highs and lows of supporting creatives, to his memories of visiting the Geelong Art Society as a little tacker.

We were fascinated by the incredible process of reproducing artwork, the care and thought that goes into framing an artist’s pride and joy, and the changes Scott has witnessed across Geelong’s art scene throughout his professional life.

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with stories, insights, laughter and a genuine appreciation for the creative community we’re lucky to be part of. It was a reminder why art in the Geelong community is so important.

Thank you, Scott, for your ongoing support, generosity and for such a wonderful conversation. We loved having you with us!

Before the prize winners and exhibition highlights are revealed, we wanted to share a few special moments from the opening night of our Portraits Exhibition.

Guests were treated to live portrait demonstrations by two of our talented Geelong Art Society tutors, showcasing both painting and pastel techniques. It was a wonderful opportunity to watch experienced artists at work and see portraits come to life before our eyes.
