Judging by the expression on this little pufferfish, I reckon he’s been doom-scrolling the morning news too. Puffers always seem to wear that permanently worried look... wide-eyed, anxious, and just slightly overwhelmed by life.

Those shimmering blue flecks in the eyes are reflective structures within the eye that can help manage light underwater and may improve vision in the constantly shifting ocean environment. Nature still gave them a pretty stylish solution though.

Restful bliss… or a perfectly disguised ambush predator waiting for the wrong fish to drift too close?

Nestled deep within the folds of soft coral, this scorpioncod looks almost peaceful, blending so completely into its surroundings that it’s easy to miss altogether. But beneath that calm expression lies a silent and incredibly patient hunter, relying on near-perfect camouflage to surprise any unsuspecting fish or crustacean that wanders within striking distance.
