SUNDAY MUSIC RETURNS! On Sunday 18 October, 2–4pm, we’re kicking off another huge season of free music in the garden with a bumper opening session.
Legendary Boorloo hip hop group DOWNSYDE will take to the WFAC stage. Formed in 1996 and featuring Optamus, DazastaH and BeNI BJAH, they’ll bring their unmistakable sound to the garden.
They’ll be joined by Walyalup Kannajil Choir, an inclusive community choir led by Bibbulmun Noongar singer-songwriter Kobi Arthur Morrison, sharing Noongar culture, history and language through song.

Introducing ‘NET OF TIME’ – a major new exhibition by Helen Britton and Justine McKnight.
Developed over more than 25 years of friendship, exchange and shared making between Australia and Europe, ‘NET OF TIME’ brings together jewellery, textiles, wearable sculpture and installation in eight significant interconnected works.
Together, the works reveal how a long-term artistic friendship can become a method of making – with objects, memories and materials exchanged over decades becoming part of a shared creative language.

Hello Creatives! Tomorrow, we're back with another Producer Tuesday: a space to meet others who make things happen, share ideas, workshop topics, and just hang out. Whether you’re deep in delivery mode or dreaming up your next project, this is your chance to connect with people who get it.

✨ Open to anyone working across producing, arts admin, or creative facilitation

Meet the panel who will be selecting the makers for 2026.

Choosing the selection panel is usually the first of many creative choices I’m privileged to make. I attempt to build a panel with a range of knowledge: craft and design-specific, artistic praxis in Walyalup Fremantle and beyond, technical experience, and cultural backgrounds.

For this selection panel, I chose Sandra Black, Melissa Cameron, and Peter Farmer Senior.

I reached out to Sandra Black because she understands ceramics practices in Walyalup from many perspectives, as both a Bazaar stallholder/maker and long-time WFAC tutor. I’m thrilled she’s managed to fit in our selection panel between her exhibitions in Taipei and Sydney.

Originally trained as an interior architect, and now dipping into public art, jeweller Melissa Cameron’s multidisciplinary insights are valuable for Bazaar, which requires an eye for design and aesthetics across a range of craft media. Knowing Melissa personally, she’s a warm and encouraging practitioner who cares deeply about the next generation of artists.

With a 30-year career in design and fashion, Peter Farmer Senior rounds out the panel. Critically for Bazaar, he has a strong knowledge of commercial craft, having worked with Jimmy Choo, Paul Carroll, and designed merch for Coldplay. I’ve wanted to work with Peter since I graduated from university, and I’m delighted he’s on the Bazaar selection panel this year.

This NAIDOC Week, we’re proud to announce our upcoming exhibition, ‘In our hands, we hold’. Opening Thursday 20 August, the exhibition foregrounds the work of First Nations women alongside artists connected through ancestral stories and family histories. Objects and presented practices speak to generosity, time, artist knowledge and the ways we understand and shape our place in the world.

‘In our hands, we hold’ is co-curated by Zali Morgan (Whadjuk Ballardong and Wilman Noongar) and Abigail Moncrieff, and features work by Lorraine Connelly-Northey (Waradgerie), Sharyn Egan (Whadjuk Nyoongar), Brett Nannup (Noongar artist with ancestral ties to the Binjareb and Wilman peoples), James Nyugen, Clare Peake, Mabel Juli (Gija), Chantal Fraser, Beverly Thomson (Yamatji) and Katie West (Yindjibarndi).

Presented with 10 Nights in Port: Walyalup Fremantle Festival.
