🎨 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT – ROSS MACKAWAY 🎨

This week, we're shining the spotlight on talented local artist Ross Mackaway.

Born in Taree in 1943, Ross discovered his love of art at an early age, often drawing comic book characters instead of doing his homework! His talent was recognised through several school art competitions, where he won four first prizes.

Although Ross originally hoped to study art, life took him down a different career path. It wasn't until his retirement to Forster that he rediscovered his creative passion, thanks to a Great Lakes Art Society membership gifted by his daughter in 2009.

Since then, Ross has become a valued member of the Gallery community, including serving two terms as President. 💛

Working primarily with acrylics, mixed media and collage, Ross enjoys experimenting with different materials and letting his imagination guide the creative process. His artworks range from traditional paintings to wonderfully quirky and unexpected creations.

We're grateful for Ross's creativity and his many years of contribution to our Gallery community! 🎨

That’s one of our favourite things about Spring Has Sprung. Take your time exploring the gallery and you’ll find everything from beautiful landscapes and florals to contemporary and abstract works.
