🎨 Member Spotlight – Bev Gordon 🎨

Bev Gordon’s creative journey began back in high school, followed by classes at Community Night College. Originally from the Hawkesbury, Bev moved to the Mid North Coast 11 years ago, where she rediscovered her passion for art.

Joining the Forster Gallery in 2015, Bev embraced the opportunity to grow her skills, attending oil painting classes for several years and participating in weekend workshops. She has since developed a strong practice in both oils and acrylics, and has successfully exhibited and sold her work through the gallery.

More recently, Bev has been expanding her artistic horizons, exploring new mediums with a beginner’s watercolour class and even signing up for a Learn to Draw class this May, proving it’s never too late to keep learning and evolving creatively.

Bev says one of the most rewarding parts of being a member is the inspiration she gains from fellow artists, from volunteers at the front desk to tutors, workshop leaders and those sharing their work in open studio sessions.

We’re so glad to have Bev as part of our creative community 💛

🎨 Feature Wall Artist – Gail Sue

As part of our “Sweet & Petite” exhibition, we’re proud to showcase Gail Sue on our feature wall.

With over 40 years of artistic practice, Gail’s work is a rich exploration of colour, texture and emotion. Beginning in traditional oil painting, her journey evolved into acrylics and abstraction where she found the freedom to create expressive, intuitive works that move between suggestion and pure feeling.

Her exhibition, “IN FLUX,” reflects this beautifully. Each piece evolves through layers, marks and movement sometimes hinting at familiar forms, other times dissolving into rhythm and gesture. It’s an invitation for viewers to pause, reflect, and find their own meaning within the work.

Gail has exhibited widely, with her work held in private and corporate collections in Australia and internationally, and her experience continues to shine through in this thoughtful and engaging body of work.

Be sure to visit the gallery, it’s not to be missed - open FRIDAY - SUNDAY.

🎟️🎨 The Raffle Winner is....

What an incredible result for this year’s Forster Art Prize, with over 1000 visitors through the gallery, there were smiles everywhere!

Our raffle was a huge hit, with the fantastic prize of a stay in a Sydney Airbnb generously donated by Christine Crowe. A big thank you for such a wonderful contribution 🙏

Congratulations go to our lucky winners, Alex and Kristen from On Time Painting! 🎉
