A message from the ECAC Committee 🎨

From our hearts to yours... ❤️

When we began planning this year's exhibition, we knew it would be unlike any other.

Cyclone Narelle touched every corner of our community. Many families, businesses, and organisations have been focused on rebuilding, and because of that, we made the decision not to approach sponsors this year. It simply didn't feel right to ask when so many were already giving so much.

But one thing we did know was that we still wanted to bring people together.

Art has always been more than paint on a canvas. It helps us process, heal, reflect, and find hope. It's a reminder that even after the darkest storms, beauty can still be created.

That's why we chose to hold this exhibition and introduced a free Poetry Wall—an open space where anyone could share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. We hope it has given people a chance to feel heard, connected, and supported.

This year also marks 30 years of ECAC, a milestone we simply couldn't let pass without celebrating the incredible creative spirit that has shaped our organisation for three decades.

To our amazing volunteers—thank you. Your generosity, passion, and unwavering commitment have carried us through another difficult year. This exhibition exists because of you.

To the sponsors who reached out to us and offered their support without being asked, thank you for believing in what we do and in the importance of keeping art alive in our community.

And to everyone who has visited, entered artwork, written a poem, volunteered, shared a kind word, or simply cheered us on—thank you. Your support means more than you know.

Although our gallery remains closed while repairs continue after the cyclone, our little team is incredibly proud to present this exhibition. It stands as a reminder that even when buildings are damaged, community spirit remains strong.

Thank you for standing with us through this journey.

Here's to healing, to creativity, and to brighter days ahead. We can't wait to welcome you home to our gallery, and we look forward to coming back stronger than ever next year.

With gratitude,

The ECAC Committee ❤️🎨
