Just reading through past comments of our 'End of Year Exhibition' and comments from students as this one is really incredible. I miss my students...
Good evening everyone. I hope you are enjoying our exhibition.
I would like to say a few words regarding how fortunate I feel having discovered art and Joy’s great academy.
Having always worked full time and exhibited horses for most of my life, there was not a lot of time left to follow other interests. Upon retiring and moving to Bendigo, I decided I needed to find an interest that was not quite as physically demanding but would afford me time to do my own thing and provide me with an opportunity to meet other people.
I initially tried another school and was very disappointed, almost giving up the idea. However, with encouragement from my partner, I agreed to look elsewhere. Good old Google!
We found Joy on Facebook and I have to thank Joy for all she has done to encourage me over the past year.
In Joy, I, along with all her students, have found not only a remarkable Artist but a talented, trained teacher who readily imparts her knowledge. She has systems and equipment in place and encourages all her students (no matter what level of ability) to produce the best works they can.
Joy’s courses are organised, informative, encouraging and a great balance between information and actually producing works that we not only enjoy doing but are often amazed at our achievements.
Thank you to all the lovely people I have met during this initial adventure, your encouragement, your sharing of your artistic experience and certainly all the laughs we have shared.
Most of all, thank you Joy. Your talent for teaching us new techniques and your encouragement to simply produce the best we can, without any bias for talent, makes your academy unique.
