Congratulations to Paige Anderson who has won People's choice in the 2026 Emerald Art Awards. "Looking Inwards" was a reflective piece showing the contrast between the artists outer and inner self. The earthy tones, rough texture and rustic materials representing a rural upbringing, while the colourful collage underneath represents a creative, and expressive sense of adventure. Using a variety of materials to create a texture and contrast, this personal piece has captured the visitors notice.

Thank you to everyone who voted, and if you haven't had a chance to visit, this exhibition is still on show until 11 September.

Congratulations to Lorelei Tuohy winning this years Acquisitive Award at the Emerald Art Awards- Lorelei's vessel beautifully merges Australian iconography with Korean pottery techniques, bringing togeather familar flora and fauna on the monumental lidded vessel. Made from clay sourced from the earth itself, the work celebrates the landscape as a source of life, honouring the plants, animals and people it continues to sustain.

Congratulations to Joanne Kerr, who won first price for her Easel based work "In the Pink- Westpark Geese" - the tightly framed composition of this image draws you in - the geese fill the canvas creating a sense of their domination over their patch of the park. Joanne has chosen a limited colour palette that compliments the bold black and white feathers of her subject and highlights their playful nature and quirks.

Congratulation to Rose Knight who won second place for her Easel based artwork in the Emerald Annual Art Awards. The judge was struck by Rose's bold composition in which she chooses to show just a slice of the glowing red earth beneath an expansive and weighty sky. She has masterfully captured the swirling textures and subtle tonal variations of the sky on the very precipice of unleashing cooling rain over the landscape.

Congratulations to Camille Swallow, who received a commendation for their Easel-based work "Garden of Eden" Camille beautifully fuses a number of styles and motifs in this work in this work, exploring her culture and personal experience of faith and religion. The use of soft inviting pastel colours and floral motifs to draw the viewer in before other elements like the rosary and serpents are revealed, making this a complex and highly personal narrative.

Congratulations to Carmen Beasley Drake for their work " Flying Along the Ridge" The Judge was drawn to the loose gestural use of the ink, which created a lyrical bush scene punctured by a dash of colour, marking the loud arrival of parrots breaking the serenity. " Flying Along the Ridge" won 1st place in the Works on Paper Category in The Annual Art Awards- Emerald.

Congratulations to Nicole Pace who won second place in Works on Paper at the Emerald Annual Art Awards. "Cat Nap" perfectly captures the uncanny ability of cats to contort their bodies into unbelievable shapes. The artist uses an innovative approach to mixed media to add texture and interest to the image, while framing the work within the box itself, placing the cat in its own world.
