Australia Day weekend so many things to do make sure you visit the Edithburgh Markets at the Edithburgh Institute in Blanche Street plenty of stalls .Make sure you get your bacon and egg sandwich or sausage sizzle prepared by Edithburgh Museums volunteers . Funds raised support the running of the wonderful Maritime Museum. Then take a walk down Edith Street towards the jetty call into the museum and craft shop so much to see and explore have a Wonderful Australia Day 🌭🥪

Hi all end of another year, the museum is open for visitors to step back in time view the history of our beautiful town when it was a thriving port. Our volunteers will take you on a tour or give you the opportunity to browse in your own time the many displays.

The Museum times will vary over the holiday season pending availabilty of volunteers check facebook or notice on Museum front door for more info. The entry fee assists with the running of the musem. Eftpos available or cash is accepted.

Also within the Museum grounds is a wonderful craft shop run by volunteers, which stocks many different hand crafted items for sale.

How lucky am I spending Christmas at my sons friends property in Mareeba weather beautiful pool amazing very relaxed waiting for the storms picked up local seafood for Christmas lunch think I might get mango sickness so much nicer fresh 1 every day

Edithburgh Markets Sunday December 14th from 9.00 am the crew will be there with tongs in hand to cook the popular bacon and egg sandwiches and sausage sizzle, fund raising for the Museum.

Museum will be closed for the Christmas period to give our very dedicated hard working volunteers a break : Closed from 21st December until 30th December.
Opening hours as of January subject to availability of our volunteers will be 10.00am - 1.00 check signage on the door for changes to those hours.

Thankyou to our army of volunteers without you the museum could not function.
