Our friends over at Pacific Basin Australia have raised an outstanding $5,546 so far for the Ports to Peaks Challenge! They'll be sending seven of their staff members to Thredbo to participate in the Kangaroo Challenge and have been training hard, so let's show them some support in the comments!

And if you'd like to support their P2P fundraiser the link is: https://www.givenow.com.au/cr/teampbaustralia

Well done, Team PB Australia!

With just over a week to go until the Seafarers Welfare Conference 2026, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors: Flinders Ports, AMWS and The TK Foundation.

Your support makes this possible and helps strengthen the care, connection and advocacy we provide to seafarers across Australia.

We’re looking forward to welcoming delegates from across the maritime community and look forward to the conversations, collaborations and shared commitment to seafarer wellbeing.

WoW, what an incredible 8 days we have just had during the stay of the Anthem of the Seas for mechanical repairs… Mission to Seafarers, Eden made ourselves available to shuttle the crew around Eden and the surrounding area… We have an 11 seat Ford Transit shuttle bus plus I was backed up by Dale Willis in his private vehicle…

The following approximates what we did…

87 Volunteer man hours
1269kms travelled

This includes:
5 trips to and from Potoroo Palace
8 trips to and from Pambula & Merimbula
1 trip to Merimbula Airport
30+ trips to and from Cocora Beach
20+ trips to and from Aslings Beach
15+ trips to and from Rotary Park lookout
10+ trips to and from George Bass Park
4 trips to and from Apex Park
1 trip to and from the Pinnacles & Haycock Point
At least 150 trips to and from Coles & IGA Supermarkets
30+ trips to and from Eden Golf Course to view & photograph the Kangaroos’
50+ trips to and from the 2 Pizza shops
1 late night (10pm) Macca’s Run to Merimbula
Also hundreds of random Imlay St drop off’s and pick up’s

I went through approximately 2.5 tanks of fuel and had 1 flat tyre…

I also did a radio interview about our activities on ABC South East Radio…

During their stay the crew set up and enjoyed Bbq’s at every possible location around town every night and took great advantage of our wonderful beaches and parks to swim and play various ball games…

I found the crew to be completely friendly and willing to have a chat and share their Bbq’s at every opportunity…

I personally had an amazing time dealing with these wonderful humans and feel like I made over a thousand new friends…

The following photo’s were taken over the past week in various locations, some are mine, and I also want to thank Joanne Korner and Trish Rowe for others…

I must confess to feeling a little sad to see the ship sail last night, but it was made better by having many crew up on the deck waving and yelling goodbye to those of us who came to see her sail… I also received 2 phone calls and multiple WhatsApp messages as she sailed from crew members saying goodbye…

Looking forward to your next visit Anthem… Have fun & travel safe…
