Just a reminder that the Dungog Museum is open every Saturday 10am till 2pm and whatever the weather throws our way it doesn't matter. Lots of local history all under cover.

Our volunteers have been busy with organising, photographing, scanning and updating our data base so that the Museum Collection is easy for our members to access. We get lots of family history enquiries and property enquiries and the more we can get on the data base the better. We get waylaid of course when we find some amazing information that comes to light. But that is what keeps us going.

Our two towns have a long and interesting history and both Historical Societies are proud to be custodians of this history through our Museums. Dungog Museum opens Saturdays 10am til 2pm. This Sunday 15 March Stroud Courthouse will be open to the public. The Stroud Museum at Quambi House is closed whilst repairs are carried out.

✨Stop in for a history fix this Sunday. Stroud Courthouse will be open from 11am to 2pm.

The Museum has been up and running for the month of February. A busy month with our AGM held and the new committee elected and committed to progressing the ongoing work of updating and collating the museum collection to enable easy access to the trove of information we hold and have stored and what we have on display. Everything has a story, and a connection that surprises us all. A busy year ahead but we can see the light beaming through. We are in awe of past members who had the foresight and dedication to our history to bring the Museum to life and now we play our part.
So this Saturday 10am till 2pm you might like to walk through the front door and learn a little about our local history which is your history.

Just a reminder the AGM of the DHS Inc. (Dungog Museum) is being held Thursday, 19.2.2026 at 4pm at the Dungog RSL. Annual Membership is due for those who have not yet renewed their membership.
We are looking forward to a big year ahead and for anyone interested in our local history please make contact there is always a place and activity that is just waiting for people to put their mark on our wonderful local museum. It really is a treasure trove of Dungog Shire.

If you miss getting our 2026 calendar they will still be available at the Dungog Newsagency.
