As night falls over the Hotel Dunedoo, we are reminded that history is never far beneath the surface. 100 years ago today the 23 December 1925, the town was shaken by the tragic death of Frank Ryan, a 29-year-old stock and station agent and respected local footballer, whose fatal fall from the Hotel Dunedoo balcony that is believed to have occurred while sleepwalking.
Today, 100 years on, we remember Frank Ryan and honour his life, ensuring his story is not forgotten.

Our History on the Porch has been updated for October with the stories from our 'Framed in Time' story competition and recollections from the Hayes family. We have an updated Railway Carriage display and Dunedoo Signal diagram in the Museum on loan from Heritage transport that may bring back some memories when passenger cars frequented our railway line. We are also on the look out for your Lan-Choo tea coupon stories and the labels people saved to buy from their catalogue.
The Museum will be open Thursday mornings or by appointment.
