The 2026 Regional Artists' Exhibition - 'Ritual & Revelry' is on display until 28 October at Gallery 107, 23 Marble Street, Dalby. Call in, our Gallery is open Weekdays: 10:00am – 2:00pm and Saturdays: 9:30am – 12:30pm. (please note we will be closed for the public holiday on Monday, 5th October)

Happy to have had this piece selected for entry and now sold at the current annual Regional Art Competition “Ritual and Revelry”. The exhibition being held this year at Gallery 107 Dalby, explores the contrasts between the human experiences of everyday life & daily rituals to those times in life when we are able to celebrate, heal and enjoy moments of freedom and joy. Today is RU OK? Day!
The Dalby Welcoming Community Inc. invites you to come together in Dalby for the RU OK? Day free event from 2 until 7pm, Thursday, 10th September at Myall Creek Parklands!
There will be lots to see and do including information stalls and activities –
Exhibition of Dalby’s Odd Socks, “Creating Conversations Art Project”
Odd Socks Parade – show off your most colourful, creative, or mismatched socks, with competition categories for different age groups. You might even win a prize.
Coffee vendor - Ability to Brew with Ethan will be there (available for purchase)
From 4pm there will be a free sausage sizzle and donut available.
After 5pm there will be a live performance of “R U OK?” by singer Josh Arnold and local choirs. This song has been created to celebrate the power of music and community connection.
Guest artist, Warwick Witt will be there also.
Bring your family, friends, and neighbours, and get involved in the afternoon’s activities. Come for the fun and discover where to find local support if you need it

2026 Western Downs Regional Artists’
Ritual & Revelry Exhibition Opening

Life moves in rhythms: solemn and ecstatic, ordered and wild. Bringing together two contrasting forces, ‘Ritual & Revelry’ invites artists to explore through their medium of choice artworks that respond to our deepest instincts: to gather, to celebrate, to connect and to seek meaning in the human experience.

Ritual binds us to time and tradition. Across cultures and generations, rituals have anchored communities, marking life’s milestones and offering solace in times of uncertainty. It is the quiet gesture, the sacred mark, the regular rhythm that holds things together. Whether it is spiritual, communal or personal, rituals embody continuity, structure, and the sacred, shaping identities and collective memory.

In contrast, revelry offers moments of exuberance, joy, liberty and transformation. It can present with an eruption of colour and sound, a total dissolution of boundaries, a surrender to freedom and play. It is laughter spilling into the night, bodies moving in unison, the ecstatic moment where individuality dissolves into collective joy.

Thank you to all who attended the Biggest Morning Tea at Gallery107@Dalby today. I think the rain scared a few off but all there really enjoyed catching up with people they hadn’t seen for a while. Raised some good funds for the local Cancer Council.
