Tamarind Lane Ceramics demonstrates the universality of the ceramic painting medium. Carmel Malcolm’s work is often inspired by the colours, textures and linear designs of the Mediterranean and North African countries. These beautiful original hand painted ceramic pieces both f
eed the soul and bring a sense of calm. The combination of design, colour and texture provides the inspiration for her pieces. These are beautiful and are created for everyday use. They incorporate patterns and designs from France, Italy, Greece and Morocco, as well as varied contemporary styles. Carmel exhibits her work locally, including art shows and galleries. She also exhibits in the Southern Highlands Annual Art Festival. Her work has recently been featured in “Art Edit” magazine 2015. Carmel teaches ceramic painting classes, and works closely with her students to create their own unique pieces. These classes are held at the Bowral and District Art Society.
