Isis Moon Bollard. I grew up on a community, a short drive out of Crescent head. From there my mother homeschooled me and my father showed me how to fish, garden and surf. I remember wanting to finish my school work as fast as possible everyday so I could paint/draw/create Growing up off grid has taught the most important things in life. Neighbours trade eggs for hot bread and someone else might have pulled carrots from the ground so they trade them for something they might need like ginger. Everyone comes together to make it work. This has shaped me and been my greatest influence and inspiration in my art making. For this I am forever grateful to my family for raising me this way in a busy world to understand what it really means to LIVE.
I have forever loved the calm, healing essence of nature. It has always been my haven to come back to myself, if ever I felt lost. As a girl I have always looked up to women, their intuition, raw beauty and ability to bring life into the world with such grace. Through my art I want to show the connection of the two, all working in harmony to make a better world in the most simple ways. Painting these pieces fills me with emotion, as I dive into the lost connection with women, nature and all things that make us one. I hope through my art I can impact people to feel something and is a small reminder in your day to choose love.
