The Penny Parlour is a working Museum of old coin-operated mechanical amusement machines and fairground memorabilia. Here you'll find a collection of more than 50 of the most interesting, unusual and rare penny-in-the-slot and skill testing machines ever constructed. Rarities, curiosities and a fascinating insight into an era long gone. All of our machines were made

in the period 1880-1950. For anyone who has ever wondered 'What The Butler Saw' or what it is like to experience 'Scientific Palmistry' or even just to see a 100 year old automaton of a drunk in a wine cellar, then this is a must see place in Port Douglas. We have an eclectic mix of original Peepshow Viewers & Mutoscopes, Fortune Tellers, Wineasy machines, Love Testers, Strength Testers, Claw Machines, Destiny Predictors and much more. Entrance charge includes old pennies to play these mechanical marvels. Some of our Mutoscopes & other viewers contain images of nudity. Parental Guidance is recommended for younger kids. The museum is housed in the historical building that was once The Port Douglas Shire Hall which was relocated from Macrossan Street to Craiglie around 2 decades ago. We have an outside seating area for byo snacks. Open Monday-Friday 9am - 1pm
